Sprint Nationals USARA Sprint Adventure Race National Championships
The USARA is proud to present the 2011 Sprint Adventure Race National Championships. Teams from around the country will battle it out for bragging rights in Austin, Texas. Two member teams will mountain bike, trail run and paddle their way to victory. Categories will include coed, coed masters, female, female masters, male, male masters, clydesdales, solo female & solo male..
 
Collegiate Nationals USARA Collegiate Nationals Adventure Race
The USARA Collegiate National Championship will be held in conjunction with Sprint Nationals. Collegiate competitors will compete for the title of Collegiate National Champion. Categories will include coed & male.  Again this year, the AIX Group and the USARA will award a $3000 + sponsorship package to the winning Collegiate coed team to help with race gear & expenses throughout the year!!
 


Course Description

Two person teams will follow a marked course. Teams will mountain bike and trail run on single track trail at Camp Longhorn in Burnet, Texas. Paddling will be done in Inks Lake. All competitors must use provided boats, paddles & PFD's. Boats are Sevelor K-79 inflatables. Paddles are double bladed. Teams may bring their own boat seats or use beach balls - seats will not be provided.

Estimated distances:
Trail Running 3-4 miles total
Mountain Biking 8-15 miles total
Paddling 30 - 45 minutes total


Registration Information

Collegiate Nationals:
The USARA Adventure Race Collegiate Nationals is open to all college students. Competitors must be (or have been) enrolled in a minimum of 1 class in Spring 2011. Team members are not required to attend the same University. Post graduate students qualify to compete in Collegiate Nationals. Categories include male and coed. Registration fees are $80 per 2-person team.

Sprint Nationals:
The USARA Sprint Nationals Adventure Race is open to all competitors. Teams do not need to qualify to compete. Categories include male, male masters (both team members must be 40+ yrs), female, coed, and coed masters (both team members must be 40+ yrs), and Clydesdale (Combined weight must be greater than 400 lbs and must ride 1 racer per boat). Registration fees are $150 per 2-person team.

What's At Stake

Collegiate NationalsCollegiate Nationals:
For the third year in a row, the AIX Group will offer an amazing $3000 + sponsorship package to the winning Collegiate coed team.  This sponsorship package will include AIX Team Racing Gear, funds for race entry fees & travel expenses, and armfulls of gear!!  The sponsorship includes equipment from Merrell, The Right Stuff, High Gear, Numa, Grangers and Zanfel. The team will also receive free entry into the 2011 USARA 24 Hour Adventure Race National Championship, an additional  $900 value and finally the top coed team will be crowned the USARA Collegiate Sprint Adventure Race National Champions! Teams must include AIX in their team name in order to receive the AIX team sponsorship.

Sprint Nationals:
The winning coed team will receive some amazing prizes including free entry into the 2011 USARA 24 Hour Adventure Race National Championship.

To Camp Longhorn Indian Springs Camp:

From Burnet:
(Intersection of Hwy 281 & Hwy 29): Take HWY 29 West for 2 miles, Turn left on FM 3509 (Hoover Valley Rd) ("Chapparal RV Park." is on SW corner). Go 5.5 miles. Entrance is on the left with the Longhorn over the gate

From the West:
After crossing Inks Lake on HWY 29, turn right on FM 3509 (Hoover Valley Road) it is about 8.5 miles on the right. Go 5.5 miles. Entrance is on left with the Longhorn over the gate.
